Torvent Zerkleinerungstechnik
Shredding & Size Reduction
Austrian maker of low-speed, high-torque single and dual-shaft shredders for commercial and industrial waste, wood, WEEE and refuse-derived fuel production.
Torvent builds slow-speed shredders in the 75 to 500 kW class, aimed at operators who need controlled particle size rather than raw tonnage. The single-shaft ST range uses a hydraulic ram and interchangeable screen baskets from 30 mm to 150 mm, typically producing 3 to 20 tons per hour on mixed commercial waste depending on screen selection.
The dual-shaft DP pre-shredder line handles bulky and contaminated input at 10 to 45 tons per hour and is commonly installed ahead of secondary shredding in RDF and SRF plants. Torvent supplies these as complete lines including conveying, overband magnets and windsifters.
Cutter tools are the company’s recurring business: a regrind and re-tipping service returns worn knives to spec at the Graz works. Torvent sells across German-speaking Europe, Italy and Poland, and operates a remote condition monitoring service that tracks drive torque and bearing temperature to schedule interventions before failures.
