Kurogane Mill Systems

Shredding & Size Reduction

Japanese manufacturer of vertical ring mills, granulators and cryogenic size-reduction systems for nonferrous scrap, cable and end-of-life battery processing.

Kurogane specialises in liberation rather than bulk reduction. Its vertical ring mill range, from 110 to 450 kW, is used to detach copper and aluminium from insulation, castings and mixed assemblies at 1.5 to 12 tons per hour, feeding downstream density and eddy current separation.

The cable granulation lines pair a pre-chopper with a granulator and zig-zag air separator, delivering copper purity commonly quoted at 99.5 percent on clean automotive harness feed. For lithium-ion battery processing the company supplies inerted two-stage shredding cells with nitrogen blanketing, off-gas scrubbing and electrolyte capture, engineered as sealed modules.

Domestic customers include nonferrous refiners and precision recyclers around Nagoya and Osaka. Export sales run through agents in South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Australia, and Kurogane stages commissioning engineers regionally for installations outside Japan.
