Grindstone Shredding Technologies
Shredding & Size Reduction
Builder of horizontal auto shredders from 60 to 10,000 hp, plus downstream separation islands and a hammer and grate rebuild programme serving shredder operators across North America.
Grindstone designs and installs horizontal hammermill shredders for end-of-life vehicles, white goods and mixed metallics. The current range covers 60 to 10,000 hp, with the 6,000 hp GX-98 sized for yards processing 200 to 400 tons per hour of ELV feed at typical shredded densities of 65 to 75 lb per cubic foot.
Beyond the mill itself, the company engineers complete downstream lines: air classification, drum magnets, eddy current separators and induction sorting for the nonferrous fraction, usually delivered as a single contracted scope with the shredder.
A wear-parts business supplies manganese hammers, grates, anvils, pin protectors and liners for both Grindstone mills and competitor machines, with turnaround times published by part class. The company’s Peoria test centre runs customer feedstock trials to model expected fluff volumes and recovery rates before a plant is committed.
