Northwind Plant Services
Services & Logistics
Contract maintenance, plant relocation and shutdown services for recycling facilities across western Canada and the northern United States, including millwrighting, welding and electrical work.
Northwind supplies the crews that keep plants running and move them when operators relocate. Contract maintenance agreements cover scheduled greasing, belt tracking, screen disc replacement, conveyor repairs and gearbox changes, usually structured as a fixed number of technician days per month with call-out cover outside that.
Plant relocation is the larger project work: dismantling a MRF or shredder line, tagging and crating, transport, re-erection and re-commissioning. The company has moved complete sort systems between provinces and handled multiple partial relocations where an operator consolidates two sites.
Shutdown crews are mobilised for planned turnarounds, typically 3 to 14 day windows where a plant is stripped, wear parts changed and structural repairs completed against a fixed schedule.
Northwind employs millwrights, welders and industrial electricians directly rather than subcontracting, and operates from Calgary with a second base in Winnipeg covering the prairie provinces and the northern US border states.
