Northfield MRF Engineering
Sorting & MRF Systems
Regional MRF builder focused on fibre-heavy plants in the upper Midwest, supplying screens, sort platforms, conveyors and controls for municipal and commercial recycling operations.
Northfield came out of the paper converting corridor around Green Bay and still builds its heaviest work for fibre. Typical projects run 10 to 30 tons per hour and handle OCC, mixed paper, sorted office paper and residential single stream feeding regional containerboard and deinking mills.
The manufactured range includes OCC screens, fines screens, sort platforms with cabbed pick stations, belt and steel-slat conveyors, and infeed metering drums. Northfield also supplies its own PLC and SCADA package, and a common upgrade path is replacing legacy relay-based controls with the current system to gain throughput logging and jam diagnostics.
The company works mainly in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois and Iowa, where its service radius allows same-day site attendance. It maintains a small parts warehouse in Green Bay and keeps drawings for every plant it has commissioned since the 1980s.
