Lumenex Sorting Solutions
Sorting & MRF Systems
Optical sorting specialist building NIR, hyperspectral and induction sorters for polymer, paper and metals streams, with an AI object-recognition layer trained on operator-labelled belt imagery.
Lumenex builds belt-mounted optical sorters in 1,000, 1,600, 2,000 and 2,800 mm working widths. The NIR platform separates PET, HDPE, PP, PS and PVC from mixed rigids at belt speeds up to 3.5 m/s, and the hyperspectral variant adds black plastics detection that conventional NIR misses. Induction models target fine nonferrous fractions down to 6 mm, working on conductivity signature rather than spectra.
The company’s differentiator is its vision layer: a convolutional model trained on labelled belt imagery from installed machines, which allows sorting by object class — beverage cartons, sleeved bottles, food-grade versus non-food PET — rather than material alone. Customers can enrol their own material to extend the model.
Lumenex operates a demonstration centre in Eindhoven, a spare-parts hub in Rotterdam, and regional service teams in France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. Machines ship with remote access for calibration and ejector diagnostics.
